Cupping
Used primarily to release the fascia (the layer of tissue surrounding muscle groups). The suction draws superficial tissue into the cup, which may be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area helping to improve circulation and relieve pain. There is the possibility of discoloration that will disappear a couple days later.
Gua sha
Similar to cupping, but a flat edge tool is stroked across the skin. The stroking movements bring "sha" to the skin level from the muscle level. Gua sha is very effective for muscle pain, colds and flus, and fever. A skin rash like reaction may appear that will disappear a couple days later.
Electroacupuncture
A form of acupuncture that uses a small electric current passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. It enhances the acupuncture treatment and is particularly good for treating pain. A gentle buzzing sensation is felt during treatment.
Auriculotherapy (ear acupuncture)
Within the ear, there are dozens of acupuncture points that correspond with specific organ systems and functions of the body. This creates a microsystem that reflects our health and can help to both diagnose and treat various health conditions throughout the body. Auriculotherapy can be used as a stand alone treatment or added to full body acupuncture to enhance the treatment, helping with pain, stress, anxiety, addiction and so much more.
